Welcome to Woodstone Senior Living Community of Rice Lake, Wisconsin! Our activity calendar is a main attraction for current and prospective residents of all ages and abilities. This month, we have added new activities to create more opportunities for our residents to socialize with others and also keep their independence.
Our residents love the opportunity to get out of the building, even if it’s just to look around. These outings allow our residents to still control where they go and what they purchase. We enjoy the variety that our trips out of the building provide for us, we like to mix it up and try new places each month! A few highlights are our regular outings to WalMart, Dollar Tree, Aldi, Cabin Coffee, and Shopko.
Keeping with New Year, New Activities, we are adding two brand new activities to our monthly calendar. One of them, “Time of Remembrance”, was suggested by a couple of our residents. We had our first gathering last Friday had a wonderful time sharing thoughts and ideas about a wide variety of topics. We started talking about how we named our children and what those names mean. Conversation quickly jumped from children’s names to how old where you when you got married and how long have or were you married. The ladies had so much fun sharing and laughing together that we lost track of time! Next time we will be bringing pictures of our wedding day to compare styles and personal likes in fashion.
As always we enjoy musical guests! We welcome any variety of entertainment from school choirs, accordion players, Country, Swing, Rock, Blue Grass and so much more!! Our most recent musical guest was, Dale Martell from Stillwater MN. Dale shared his musical talent with us on the Mandolin, the electric guitar, and the acoustic guitar, all while singing and sharing history on how Blue Grass came to be! It was so much fun to sit back and listen to this wonderful musical journey.
We look forward to a wonderful 2017! Full of fun, laughter, conversations and making memories with our neighbors. If you are ever in the area, please stop in and take a tour of our wonderful community. We’d love you to have you!!
