What is your role as an Executive Director?
I am in charge of marketing the community, which includes community outreach, giving tours and answering all questions about our rooms and what we provide. I am also in charge of staffing and most of the HR surrounding our staff, including hiring, reviews, non-healthcare related training and re-direction when necessary. I also make sure we operate within a balanced budget, including the oversight of the management and budgets of our culinary team, maintenance, and community life staff.
How long have you been at Woodstone & as an Executive Director?
Why did you choose this career?
I enjoy working in a healthcare community, especially with the population that we serve. I also really enjoy management and the roles and responsibilities that come with it. It’s so great to see our staff grow and learn with this job.
What is your favorite hobby outside of work?
Hanging out with my family and friends
Any fun facts about you or secret talents you have?
I took 12 years of piano lessons. As the years go on, I think I’m getting a little rusty, but enjoy playing the piano when I can.
Favorite memory at Woodstone?
I will never forget the process of meeting, touring, assessing and moving in my very first resident. I knew that keeping the rooms at our community filled was the main objective of my job and it felt so good to do that first one. She was such a cool lady and her family was so nice too. That whole process helped me realize that helping people and making those personal connections was going to be my favorite part of this job.
What makes Woodstone a great place to work?
The people. I love our staff. They are all ages from all walks of life. And each of them brings something unique and special to our team. And of course, the residents are great. I love visiting with them, hearing their stories, and getting to know them and their families.
