Growing Up:
When Joan was 8 years old, she moved to Gaylord, MN and started living on a farm. She lived on a dairy and crop farm most of her life. Joan was an only child growing up and went to high school in Gaylord as well.
Marriage:
Later in life, in the 1960s, she met her husband at a local bar in New Auburn, MN. They purchased a dairy and crop farm on the outskirts of Gaylord, where they later had 3 children together (2 girls and 1 boy).
Work:
Joan was a farmer’s wife up until 1978 when she then started working part time at Crystal Foods, which then changed to Waldbaums and then to what is now Michael Foods. She worked there from 1978 to 2008 where she worked her way up from part time cashier to Accounting. She worked there for 30 years, loved her time working there and wouldn’t change a thing!
Hobbies/Fun Facts:
Joan loves bowling, playing cards, and watching her favorite television channel – Game Show Network! She also loves spending time with her children and grandchild as well! An interesting fact about her is that she is very good at bowling and has some of the highest women averages at the bowling facility in Gaylord, where she used to go bowling at! One of her favorite places that she has traveled to is Tennessee.
Woodstone:
She is enjoying Woodstone and has met a ton of friendly people! She also loves how they host activities daily and you have the choice to participate every day but if you don’t want to do them you aren’t forced to. She also loves the freedom here at Woodstone and the safe environment!
We are so excited to have Joan here and can’t wait to make many memories with her!
