Woodstone of New Ulm residents had the opportunity to go fishing with the program “Let’s Go Fishing.” This program offers a chance for older adults, veterans, disabled adults, and children to go out on a pontoon and catch fish. All of the items needed for fishing are supplied at no cost and we had so much fun! For more details on the program, visit them at http://lgfws.com/
This program is such a neat idea and we were all so thankful that we got the chance to go fishing. A few of the residents said they used to go fishing all of the time and a couple others said they hadn’t fished in over 20 years!
When we arrived at the lake two guides helped us all with our life jackets, helped us onto the pontoon, got our fishing poles ready, and off we went! The guides must have known the perfect spot to go fishing because every single resident caught at least one fish!
After everyone caught fish, the guides took us all on a ride around the lake, it was a great end to a perfect day. The residents shared many fishing stories and we all reminisced about the past. It was such a fantastic afternoon and we are thrilled to be able to go fishing two more times in August!
