It is important to celebrate National Nurses Week because it recognizes the hard work and dedication of nurses who play a vital role in providing quality care to our residents. It also raises awareness about the important contributions Nurses make to our society and encourages people to show appreciation for their efforts! We are so incredibly thankful for our Nursing staff at Woodstone!
Interview:
Audrey Loiselle, RN
What is your title and role at Woodstone?
I am the Director of Health Services at Woodstone Rice Lake.
How long have you been at Woodstone?
I will be at Woodstone for 5 years this May.
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
I really do not see myself as an “interesting” person. 😊 I grew up as a Mennonite farm girl, married and had 5 children, then later left that religion and went to college to pursue my dream of being a nurse, something I had wanted to do since I was 6 years old. I am back in school now for my BSN.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of work?
I love to garden, raise animals, and love chickens! Are children a hobby? 🥰 I love spending time with our 8 kids. We have a camper we enjoy being at on weekends in the summer. We also love to travel and explore new places and food. My husband and I like to cook together and hang out, we also like to get outside with the kids and play games. We are just taking up “frolfing”.
What is your favorite memory at Woodstone?
I can’t target one particular memory. I have lots of good ones that involve staff and residents. I would say my favorite memories are connections made, warm times create whether with residents, families, or staff where we all feel the same emotions that make us understand each other and makes caring for others such a rewarding career. Times of growth, whether personal or as a unit.
What makes Woodstone a great place to work?
There is a sense of belonging and community. Teamwork is usually wonderful and we pull together in all departments to make things happen and ensure everyone is cared for. We strive to create a fun atmosphere that is more laid back and makes us want to keep returning day after day. Top of the list are the residents. We have a beautiful, intelligent, caring group of seniors who maintain quality of life and enjoy being with each other.
