There are days that you just love what you do – just a little bit more.
Earlier this week, one of our team members at Woodstone of Hutchinson, Chelsey, and her brother brought their horses over so the residents could have some horse therapy with the animals.
Horses have a wonderful way with people and that was on full display when they brought them over. Equine Therapy is a treatment that promotes physical and emotional growth in persons suffering from dementia, depression, autism, and those with traumatic brain injuries to name a few. Not many people know this, but horses have a very similar behavior as humans do, especially in the social sense.
When the horses came, we brought the residents out to see them.
