Residents at Woodstone of Hutchinson started off their holiday party this morning by making a visit to The Paint Factory in downtown Hutchinson.
For those who don’t know, The Paint Factory is a local studio where you can go and “unleash your inner artist!”
Not only was this their first time visiting the studio, but for some, it was the first time they had put their hands on a paint brush in years.
Our community life program plays such a critical role for our residents and helps them enrich their lives. Art plays a large role in that. For many of us, art is way to release creative energy. For someone with memory loss, it is a way to communicate. When words fail us, art has a way of relaying our emotions and can recreate a memory that may have otherwise gone untold.
For all of us, art has a way of relaxing us and the residents of Woodstone of Hutchinson took full advantage of that – even having dinner delivered to them onsite.
This was just the start of their day. We will post up more photos and stories as they day progresses!
