Last week our very spunky and outgoing resident Teckla returned back home to Woodstone. With being gone more weeks than we would have liked Teckla to be gone, staff didn’t lose hope of her return and continued to visit her each week at the facility she was staying at. Through her stay there, Teckla still had her sense of humor, laughs, and jokes to tell everyone when they came to visit.
Last week we got the call from Teckla’s family that they wanted to bring her back home to Woodstone. The staff and residents were over joyed with the news and couldn’t wait for her arrival.
The day finally arrived and staff were very excited to pick up Teckla and bring her back to our community, our family. When staff arrived, Teckla was smiling from ear to ear about returning home to Woodstone and seeing all her friends. Residents and staff were so excited to see Teckla come in and couldn’t wait to catch up after she got settled. Just like that she was home, making jokes like she had always. We all just smiled and thought to ourselves, 99 and still going strong. What a lady!
Truth be said, that even though we are not all related at Woodstone Senior Living Community, doesn’t mean we all don’t treat each other like family. Each day that we all spend more time together, residents and staff, our bonds grow stronger and stronger, just like a family does.
