With the nice weather that comes and goes Woodstone is patiently waiting for the up-coming farmer’s market to open.
The reasons why Woodstone takes advantage of the local farmer’s market is to be able to provide the residents of Woodstone with fresh quality produce. Kristen (Food Service Director) stated, “I can connect with the local farmers and know who and where the produce is coming from. With talking to the farmers at our local farmers market I have learned the farmers will try to keep the produce as organic as possible, and a benefit is the farmers pick the produce as close to selling day as they can.”
Grocery stores produce have pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, and genetic modification that can be used from their venders. For example, the produce can be irradiated, waxed, or gassed in transit. Which these techniques used may have harmful effects on human health and the body.
Not only can you find fresh produce but you can also find cute crafts.
