One of the amazing community partnerships that Woodstone of Rice Lake has is with the Rice Lake Public Library. We partnered up approximately 5 1/2 years ago to bring the residents of Woodstone the “Bookmobile”. The Bookmobile is a free service that the Rice Lake Public Library provides to senior living communities, nursing homes, and some individuals in the area. This wonderful service is made possible by library volunteers that bring books and other library materials to those that cannot get to the library for themselves.
Every other Wednesday, at 9 in the morning, Woodstone is blessed with a visit from Jodi K, from the library. She is committed to bringing not only books that our residents have requested, but materials that she thinks they would enjoy based on their previous reading history and by getting to know each resident.
Throughout the past 5 1/2 years, Woodstone residents have checked out 4,073 items, and renewed 1,011 materials!! There have been over 30 different residents that have used this service over the years.
Our most avid reader is Jo G. She has checked out 920 books in the past 4 years! We can’t wait to celebrate check-out number 1000!
